About this Video
Firefighter Air Coalition’s mission is to protect every firefighter from the deadly impact of smoke. They do that by:
- Providing information, education, and training programs on air management best practices
- Sharing information and promoting methods that prevent line-of-duty cancer related to exposure to fire smoke
- Supporting jurisdictions across the country in the code adoption process to require firefighter air replenishment systems (FARS)
- Supporting and distributing scientific fireground and safety research
During 2021, Firefighter Air Coalition donated complete firefighter air replenishment systems (FARS) to four fire department training facilities: Bellevue, WA; Meridian, ID; Grand Prairie, TX; and Round Rock, TX.
Each of the departments hosted regional demonstrations at their training towers, sharing their FARS systems with other fire departments in their areas. And local media came out in force to bring news of this important life safety system to their communities.
